NGC 1132 is a "lone wolf" galaxy, far from other galactic clusters, says NASA. was it always a loner, scorning the company of its galactic peers for the rough-and-tumble life in the far reaches of intergalactic space? or is it actually a group of galaxies joining forces, banding together to survive a lonesome cosmos? whatever the reason, NGC 1132 is huge and solitary. and super-bright, in this hubble pic. hubblesite.org/newscenter/archive/releases/2008/07/image/a/
