The other night on TV I heard about this new military “active denial system” or “ray gun” technology. From a dish mounted on a Humvee a beam of 130 degree heat penetrates 1/64th of an inch of skin, not damaging the body in anyway, but uncomfortable enough that the enemy would have to flee. I think it is brilliant as a non-lethal means of defense in Iraq. But, so far, the military refuses to use it. This doesn’t make sense to me at all; I mean if something like this can be used efficiently with no casualties, than why on earth wouldn’t it be? Sounds pretty awesome so I don't get why they're not using it either. Cost expense? Maybe they think its not worth the money to invest in it.
It could also be of use to the police force and such. Like when rioting occurs on streets or even in prisons. Is anyone else devolping it further?

I've heard of this too... the pain-ray. Very sci-fi. It works by radiating... exciting water molecules in the the skin. It is set at such a wavelength to reach the depth of nerve endings. Not pleasant. Better than a bullet. Perhaps more effective than rubber bullets?

Dude, what do you mean by this? Ecites water molecules within us? Yeah... it's electromagnetic radiation waves that excite water molecules in your skin... which heats htose molecules up... to about 130 °F. An intensely painful sensation of extreme heat without actually burning the skin. Apparently it feels something akin to a light bulb being pressed against your naked skin, like you are catching on fire... or like a blast from a hot furnace, too intense to ignore or withstand. As soon as you get away from the beam you return to normal and there is no pain. It's definitely trippy.
