HeartStart is a home-based, parentally guided child education program that recognizes the dual brain disposition of the human psyche. The program was initiated in response to the imbalance of the current state sponsored education system that focuses almost exclusively on left brain indoctrination via classroom-based rote learning. HeartStart is specifi cally designed to address the intuitive as well as the analytical attributes of the human potential. The goal is to create a balanced association of both the physical and metaphysical forces that govern the psyche and thereby release the full creative potential of the human genius. The basic philosophy of HeartStart is founded on the behavioral ethics that have been imprinted in the human gene pool during one hundred thousand generations of evolutionary development. The spontaneous rise of child prodigies in every culture points to the fact that this vast bank of ancestral wisdom must lie latent in our genetic makeup and can be accessed in some mysterious way. As only 1% of students express this latent genius through the current focus on the science of analytical development, it is obvious that full access to this treasure house of stored knowledge must include an evocation of the neglected intuitive half of the psyche. Access to this secretive side of our nature lies in the evocation of latent powers of extra-sensory perception. This para-psychological dimension of the mind is guarded and governed by ethical constraints that are directly related to our social behavior. They are founded on the evolutionary disciplines of: Meticulous sharing and caring; A chore-based work ethic; Personal courage; Personal pride; Community commitment: Conscientious craftsmanship; Scientifi c logic; Spiritual awareness. Except for science, these essential ethics that combine to bring out our genius, are unfortunately not equably developed in current school curriculums.

Is there any danger of a propagandist using this teaching technique to implant her own agenda into the mind of a child far more effectively than preiviously possible? What safeguards are there in this system to protect against such a possibility?

Is there any danger of a propagandist using this teaching technique to implant her own agenda into the mind of a child far more effectively than preiviously possible? What safeguards are there in this system to protect against such a possibility? HeartStart is a family-based home education program and relies on the natural goodness of parents who seek the best ofr their children. There are of course a tiny minority of deranged people who have children and prey on their own offspring. In this respect (to answer your question) there are no safeguards in any system that can stop a parent from influencing or harming their own children any way they choose. As a result we are all left trying to deal with the problem after the fact. This unhappy reality lies within the Laws of Cause and Effect and one can only hope that what has happened has reasons beyong normal analysis and that God knows what He is doing. Most parents are good and law-abiding people and a child responds naturally to their ethical guidance. That is why Heartstart works so well, because it is orientated on imprinted healthy family values. As it stands now the state is doing much of the influencing, while the parents are forced to work to pay the billds and keep up with the Joneses. The stuff going on in crowded classsrooms and the playground is largely uncontrolled and peer-group influences are not always healthy. We feel that, in the long run, the State would be better off if it funded the family with the same amount of money it currently spends on the ppublic school system (ave. $6000.00 per child)and allows at least one parent to remain at home to guide the children.

Hi MM. Nice answer to the question by autonomouse. I also have a question. I myself have only a high school diploma, and have met a lot of other parents who are very daunted by the thought of not having enough knowledge to teach their children. What qualifications does the Heartstart program provide the parents for teaching children?

I myself have only a high school diploma, and have met a lot of other parents who are very daunted by the thought of not having enough knowledge to teach their children. What qualifications does the Heartstart program provide the parents for teaching children? Since the Heartsart Program ignores all text-book training for the first twelve years, parents using the program, need a minimum of academic training and a large dose of common sense. The fundamental qualification is to maintain good family values, with at least one (preferably both) parents providing guidance in the home at all times. All children as imprinted with 100,000 generations of ancestral genetic input and are therefore already geniuses. The trick is to access that vast storehouse of existential knowledge that lies in the sub-conscious. Rote learning from text books inside a crowded classroom cannot do that. The hardest and potentially the most intelligent behavior to teach a child after it is weaned, is how to share. Meticulous sharing takes seven years of constant reminding and can only be done successfully in a large family group of well-spaced siblings. Evoking a generous nature is the prime foundation for the further development of a potentially attentive student. It is intelligent because it makes the individual aware of the needs of another, and therefore becomes attentive in general. The next foundation of intelligence is the development of sustained focus. This is best achieved by instituting a chore-based work ethic. Also introducing the child to arts and crafts and workshop skills. This training takes a further five to seven years of sustained encouragement by the parents. Hiking and camping, evokes the ancient common sense of the Hunter/gatherer. It also evokes deep-seated superstitions regarding natural spirits and the Laws of Cause and Effect that govern Nature. They become hyper conscious of Her warnings against trespass. Developing this intuitive sense of ethical behavior, both out in the wild and at home, is another hallmark of personal excellence, that will serve the future student well. Courage is the third ethic that parents should help to evoke. Certain risks need to be taken if courage is to be evoked. Puberty is the best period for doing this. Three or four nights alone in the wilderness, can do wonders to evoke personal courage and a sense of self-resolution. It also evokes a necessary sense of family company and community commitment. If these three ethics are evoked before puberty, the budding intelligence and natural curiosity of the student will turn to mastering text books with almost no need of parental assistance. The 8th grade can be mastered inside six months. GED at 16 years. Parents end up with a bright student, who has excellent social instincts and remains self-policed for life.

I apologize for the belated reply. I stopped receiving notifications of any activity so I assumed that it was indeed a ghost town around here. I have since had the webmaster repair that glitch and will therefore be more prompt from here on.
Hi Fay
Thank you for your interest in HeartStart. Our manual on home-schooling should be out around mid 2008. But here follows a basic outline.
It is possible for one mom to home-school close friend’s children, but not ideal. Children mimic elders and I am sure most of us want them to pattern themselves on us. Also HeartStart is purely an oral-based program of instruction. There are no text-book studies until after puberty – not even 1st Grade grammar. Consequently, such a radical change from traditional methods of child education makes it a little difficult for parents to accept at first
HeartStarts dual brain program concentrates initially on instilling sound ethical behavior for the first thirteen years. We emphasis plenty of parental attention; personal hygiene and home chores. After chores are done each morning, we leave children free to play and choose their own recreation for most of each day, with some structured arts and crafts classes, cooking and gardening if possible. Regular nature hikes and field trips are essential. So too are card and parlor games. Hand and eye coordination is encouraged in sports and computer games. We also coach them in simple mental arithmetic problem solving. We allow free access to TV with no censorship. We encourage documentary viewing and current world affairs. We have found children have a natural aversion to sordid programs and are quick to understand the good and bad in human behavior without outside help. TV violence is understood to be simply an act. Every three months on and three months off, we conduct morning yoga exercises and meditation drills as well as a singing class.
At puberty we try to conduct a creative initiation ceremony that formally acknowledges their entrance into young adult hood and the further responsibilities that entails. A few days and nights spent fasting alone in the wilderness is optional. We found all the kids go for it and are intensely proud of the personal achievement afterwards. The objective there is to instill respect for the comforts of home and all the advantages a community offers.
In other words, for the first 13 years of their lives we concentrate more on the development of the artistic intuitive right side of the brain than on the mechanical analytical left side. The objective is to lay a sound ethical foundation of social, emotional and creative intelligence, before introducing government pre-scribed text-book studies.
We have found that from this base of common sense any 13 year old can quickly grasp primary text-book lessons and, within six months, after only two hours of study per day, easily surpass the sophomore level of classroom-trained students.
One of the other great advantages of the HeartStart method is that parents, except for a few basic lessons at 1st grade level after puberty, never tutor their children from then on. So parents do not need to be highly educated. Each of our students tutors themselves through to high school graduation with minimum adult help. The internet has all the advanced knowledge kids need and they love to surf it. All have passed the high school equivalency examinations among the top 3% in the nation.
The big question is how do you get past government regulations that expressly disallow the revolutionary foundation on which our program is based? No early reading! Until; we reach a point where hundreds of families are participating in the program and proving that this system is superior to all others, each family has to regard itself as a pioneer and find their own way to get the job done.
In the meantime while the manual is being prepared a facility large enough to accommodate up to 6 parental pairs at a time, who can come here for a week of training in the HeartStart method, is currently in the construction phase. This facility should be ready in 2009. Hopefully all of the parents trained by us will go home and train others.

my question may sound as simple and naive as it is intended to be outrageous: should there not be a home schooling project for evasive adults first? or at least running concurrently?

my question may sound as simple and naive as it is intended to be outrageous: should there not be a home schooling project for evasive adults first? or at least running concurrently? Absolutely! The egg must come before the chicken Temporary State force may be needed for a generation in order to deprogram the present lax parental mind-set Family values define national values Parental responsibilities should be a compulsory subject in all schools Before marriage licenses are issued a couple should show proof of a reasonable courtship period They should attend classes in child psychology with special emphasis on the damages of divorce Divorce laws could be strengthened children's affections should not be divided by immature parental fights When adults break vows that break up families children lose faith in personal integrity and nations go to pot Sounds drastic I know but the long term crisis of the past three generations of lax divorce laws have yet to surface fully we have no precedence on such a massive scale 50% or more divorce in modern countries and ancient marriage taboos have also broken down in the 3rd World with millions born out of wedlock some real action is badly needed

Is there any danger of a propagandist using this teaching technique to implant her own agenda into the mind of a child far more effectively than preiviously possible? What safeguards are there in this system to protect against such a possibility? it's not a technique in the sense of any dogmatism or fanaticism. insofar, no, this danger should decrease with mutual trust creating a safe bonding, all possible freedom taken in responsibility to one another.
