Improvisation is understanding, combined with transcending
What I can't figure out is how fast it all works.
When I play guitar and I'm just pluckin' like a gypsy it's as if This is my song, and it was always going to play and I learn along the way.
It's weird, an ability i've developed because every night i just thought and thought and thought and thought and Listened instead of heard.
Anybody else here improvise anything?? It's the weirdest ability. .

Hi, I guess improve can be interpreted in different ways, instead of direct art such as meaningful, soul wrenching music or gripping paintings (being more dramatic examples) I've always been fascinated with the written word, and the difficulty and challenge of expressing oneself through these words, I've been writing for a long time and will say so myself that at least once or twice I've come across on paper, (words) exactly how I wanted. Anyway, sometimes when I write, the ideas (sometimes large ones) are straight from my head and onto the page, with no thinking time. Well thats about it for my improve experiences, what do you think?

I think it's all jazz, all of this.
We can spit jazz with words, or motion And it feels O SO GOOD

Been building a training center for ten years, from recycled material. Have to improvize ten/twenty times a day to make it all work. Many unique architectual results that could never have happened otherwise.

Normally one draws up architectual plans and then buys the relevant materials and builds. Working with recycled materials forces one to work in reverse and build around what is available. This entails endless improvisation, which in turn reveals novel solutions that money cannot buy and schools do not teach. For instance: Without the money to pour massive cement foundations, it forced me to realize that the silt on the dry lake bed was a firm enough foundation in itself. This proved true. A series of stone arches, stretching two hundred feet down one side of the building and supporting the veranda roof, weighing several hundred tons, have not been displaced by one milimeter, even though they were built directly on the sand. A large tiled patio has been laid on barely a half inch cement base, again with no cracks. Digging a large basement and plastering it with a thin layer of cement, has doubled the house size and, via the stairwell, provideds year round air conditioning for the rest of the house. (Earth temp is a constant 55% F.) Stone and mud buildings this size in an earthquake zone need special steel reinforcing. No steel made me realize that the accumulation of 80 feet of silt on the forty mile-long dry lakebed. acted as a water-proof plug ontop of the water-table and would neither liquify or crack during a prolonged shake, but simply swish back and forth and stay level. This has also proved true so far, without any reinforcing there are no cracks in the walls. Also, dressing wood beams with granite tiles to make stone arches. Finding out that cement adheres stongely enough to adobe to dress the face of the buildings with with field stone slabs. Lots of little improvasional things like that which add up and which would not have happened otherwise.

I don't even know what to say, Tho I can barely fathom your achetectural composition, sounds like it's flowing beautifully, to me.

Improvisation is understanding, combined with transcending Anybody else here improvise anything?? It's the weirdest ability. . I have found that poverty can make one improvise alot. If you have everything at your fingertips you just use things. I learned early on that without money I had to learn to be more creative. Once you are stuck inside the box it is very hard to get out of it. But if you watch life you see that the ones who improvise and have the courage to step outside of artificial constructs are the ones we admire most. On the other hand I believe that through learning a discipline and mastering it can also bring the ability to improvise to the forefront of consciousness.

I also have found that if you really have to work hard for something you appreciate whatever it may be a hundred times more than if it were simply handed to you. And also, you take care of the things you had to work for, I personally find that the things I cherish most are the things that didn’t come easy…

I mean what else is there to do?
