I have two suggestions for your forum. Firstly, you need to reduce the number of sub forums. It is diifuclt to know where to post something, and given that your philosophy is so holistic, it doesnt make sense to seperate out science and theology, for example. I would suggest just three subforums, one for discussing the book, one for talking direvtly to the author, and one for everyhting else.
My second suggestion is more aesthetic. I dont like the black theme, its unucessarily hard on the eyes. Wouldnt purple be more appropriate, or dark blue, since I understand that is the colour of the 'Third Eye' chakra?

I would really suggest quite strongly you consider closing some of your subforums. it makes the place look kinda empty, when its not. I think that might put people off posting here.

Your interest is encouraging. I am sure Lasher will take your advise into account. As most of our concepts are both holistic (science/spirituality) as well as futuristic, we expect it will take some time for this forum to catch on. Hopefully we will hear much more from you. I'd like to see an option to receive e-mails when someone replies to a topic you've posted in. Glad you brought this up... because it is a very useful feature on other forums and there is a similar system already in place here... but it isn't very apparent. It is the bookmarking feature. When making a thread or replying to one you can bookmark any topic you wish to keep an eye on, by ticking the “Check this box if you wish to bookmark this thread” below your message before you hit reply. To then view your watched topics you can see them under the 'Bookmarks' link which can be found in your profile (think of your profile as a User CP.) Now, to receive email notifications you must change your bookmarking preferences which can be found at the same location. You can choose either: no notification, to be PMed or emailed. It’s not the sleekest most utilitarian system that you find on some other forums and I’ll see if it can be improved upon, but for the time being…  |
