Overview: In a nutshell, the new quoting system co-exists with (does not replace) the standard proboards quoting system. Enhancements include:
• Quote multiple posts for use in a reply
• Quote sections of a post rather than entire post
• Use Quotes from other threads in your reply.
So, you can now quote the entire post by clicking on the add quote link on the bottom of that post or quote part of a post instead of the whole thing by selecting the text you want to quote and then clicking on the add quote link. To add multiple sections from the same post, simply repeat the process. Same goes for other posts within the thread.
It will show a (1) (2) etc. next to the link and adversely have a 'remove quote' option next to that.
Now, when you go to 'reply', opt to use your selected quotes by clicking the 'view quotes' link below your reply box, next to “Topic Summery” (this link will only appear if you have saved any quotes by adding them, as described above) From there you can insert the quotes into your reply. You can 'pick up' up to 10 different quotes to use in your reply. These quotes can be from the thread you are posting in or anywhere else on the forum and will stay in your quote summery unless you use them or delete them.
Thought it may come in useful for some.
Please feel free to test it here in this thread and get familiar with it. It works in Internet Explorer 6 & 7 - not sure about other browsers.
