As it stands
the internet
is the repository of our accumulated knowledge
endlessly up-dated
and commented upon
by tens of millions of researchers
and readers

The librarians are the search engines
that can bring any subject
and its relative connections
instantly to the home desk top

What the web lacks
is social leadership
that can define and focus on common goals
enlist people and machines
direct actions
report on results
and improve planet management
while addressing the spirit
of our evolutionary purpose

I am suggesting that we embed
within the web
a television broadcasting station
complete with anchor hosts
invited guests

disseminating

news programs
current affairs
magazines
in-depth documentaries
the arts
sports
etc

We can begin right away
without a budget
hosting the animal cruelty documentary
taking input from the audience
with a view towards using the outraged energy
to actually get correction
in proportion to the volume of response

and then feed off that energy
appoint correspondents around the world
urge the audience to stay actively connected
to our station and web site
asking them for input
encouraging them to make up their own programs
for hosting by us
and thereby establish
Central Net Control

It might well be that such a central station
or the beginnings of one already exist

I think that your best bet in regards to a central hub of news and stories and even activism is becoming a contributor on a site like current.tv or ireport.com... it's definitely not exactly what you have in mind as these sites are not ideal... because, no matter what, you'll end up having to sift through a lot of nonsense when something is 100% user generated.

Basically the leadership and control over what content is disseminated is not something you can have on these sites. You'll just be one of the contributors to it... all you can control is the way your piece is presented. I think you've got the choice between having a personal blog where you have control over everything and you present it exactly as you want it to be seen, and create the atmosphere that you spoke of, or you can become part of a much larger site, like the two I listed.... perhaps with the ultimate goal of generating enough energy to create something like that in the future. What you lose in leadership you gain in just over all traffic and exposure.

So, I guess what I'm saying is that the fact of the matter is those sites are fully capable and networked which, in regards to what you are speaking about, is exactly what you'd need to be. Having the capacity to host and channel and direct submissions and viewer related content requires a pretty serious investment and tech know-how.

is the way to go
at least to begin with
and then take it from there

The guy that is into the solar hot water heating systems in Sonora is trying to do just that. He would be the one to talk to regarding the above...Has Magnetman been in touch with him?

Magnetman,

The person that is involved in the solar hot water heaters is also trying to organize a web hub similar in objectives; He is a licensed internet provider, and has talked about similar goals in terms of swithed on videos that assist in all kinds of better management of planet resources etc.

He is the one who told me about "Zeitgiest", the documentary.
Have you viewed it yet? It is very much along these lines...

I think that you should talk to Jerry, who is the solar water heater contact that I've been speaking about; he has a similar vision for a web hub and can maybe help in its organization. Has licensed himself as an internet provider and has set up internet TV station in Sonora. He told me he would like to be involved in good beneficial video documentaries that are aired on the web for planetary progress on a non-profit basis...
