My vision of the electronic energy
surrounding the core of the nucleus
is similar to the sight
of a swarm of bees
swarming
on their way to a new location
The energy around the edge of the swarm
increases exponentially towards the center
The buzz
is intense
The beating wings
are a blur of energy
sending oxygen molecules carooming into each other
From every direction
billions of friction hits
generate a haze of heat
The vision when seen against the sky overhead
as they swarm by
is like looking at a moving ball
of almost invisible energy
I have yet to measure
the decible their air movement broadcasts
the buzz is frightening
a hundred feet away
The queen
of course
is in the center
her guard
is a surrounding armada
of androgynous kami-kazi killers
each with enough zing
to fell a king
As I see them go
I see an atom
on the wing
