"In many primitive mythologies God is the sun (the presever of life). Ever notice how the ankh resembles both a man and a cross? I suspect that the primitive mind was mostly concerned with survival. In primitive tribes fear of not surviving was assuaged by shamans who taught certian rituals and rites as effective intercessors with the spirits of environmental food supplies. This is not to say that mythology amounts to lies, ; it is to say that mythology included the questions and answers about survival that were available at the time. These questions and answers evolved into religions. The shaman became the priest who answered in cumulative tenets of belief. When the spirits of environmental objects no longer spoke to us, God did, said the Church. See Julian Jaynes on what happened when God no longer spoke to patriachs and prophets. Christianity, for me has importance, not in its historical debates, schisms and bloodshed, but in seeing the teachings of Jesus as going contrary to egocentic, individualistic or separatist tendencies we all seem to have." i borrowed the quote in coming down from a pedestal one may perhaps have climbed on. does that compensate for ongoing discomfort where nothing can be known? cannot or must not? ~~~~ but thanks, kind migrant worker. all paradigms thoroughly removed before shifting. what absolute wisdom. \!!

Did you know... ... that today is the birthday of the Nannarrup Hoffmani? In 2002, scientists announced the discovery of a new species in New York City's Central Park, an 82-legged centipede. The species is the first new species to be discovered in Central Park in more than a century. It is, possibly, the smallest known species of centipede. Um... happy birthday? ~~~ Today's Inspirational Quote: "Although there may be nothing new under the sun, what is old is new to us and so rich and astonishing that we never tire of it. If we do tire of it, if we lose our curiosity, we have lost something of infinite value, because to a high degree it is curiosity that gives meaning and savour to life." -- Robertson Davies
